Dinesh Vijan’s production company, Maddock Films, is known for its success in Bollywood, recently releasing hit films like Munjya and Stree 2 in 2024, as well as the blockbuster Chhaava in 2025. The company is now preparing for the launch of Bhool Chuk Maaf, while Cocktail 2 is set to start filming soon. Additionally, Vicky Kaushal’s project Mahavatar is currently in the scripting phase.
However, amid these upcoming releases, three completed films under Maddock Films—Pooja Meri Jaan, Rumi Ki Sharafat, and Sarvagunn Sampanna—are still awaiting their digital premieres. Even though these films have been ready for over a year, delays have occurred due to issues surrounding their deals with OTT platforms.
Reports indicate that Dinesh Vijan is having trouble finalizing negotiations with streaming services, which have not met his expectations. A source shared that these films explore diverse subjects and showcase strong performances, aligning with the company’s vision. Yet, their release has stalled as Vijan seeks a deal that reflects the films’ potential, while streaming platforms believe the asking price is too high.
The content of these films fits well with Maddock’s reputation for unique storytelling. Pooja Meri Jaan, featuring Huma Qureshi and Mrunal Thakur, tackles the serious issue of stalking. Rumi Ki Sharafat, starring Radhikka Madan, offers a social comedy, and Sarvagunn Sampanna remains rooted in the realm of mid-budget films focusing on meaningful narratives.
An insider has noted that Vijan is justified in his approach, as Maddock Films is in a position to be patient. After the pandemic, many acquisition budgets have decreased, but Vijan is reluctant to compromise on the films’ value.
For now, he appears willing to wait for what he considers a fair offer.
