Rajasthan Royals’ Sandeep Sharma to Miss Match Against Mumbai Indians

Rajasthan Royals’ bowler Sandeep Sharma will not play in the IPL 2025 Match 50 against Mumbai Indians due to a broken finger. Captain Riyan Parag shared this news during the toss, where RR chose to bowl first after winning.

Sandeep has struggled in the current season, taking nine wickets in ten matches, with his best performance being 2/21 against Punjab Kings. Akash Madhwal has been named as his replacement in the lineup, marking his debut for RR after being acquired for Rs 1.20 Crore.

In another update, Wanindu Hasaranga has been ruled out with a minor injury and will be replaced by Kumar Kartikeya. Hasaranga is currently one of RR’s top bowlers this season, having taken ten wickets in eight games.

At the toss, Parag explained, “We’ll bowl first as we expect some dew later. The pitch tends to settle down at night. Regardless of winning or losing, we keep our approach simple. The focus is on playing one game at a time. If we perform to our potential, we know how strong we can be. We want our players to have the freedom to play their natural game. We’ve made a couple of changes today: Hasaranga is out, and Kumar Kartikeya is in, along with Madhwal, since Sandeep has a broken finger.”

On the opposing side, the Mumbai Indians made no changes to their lineup.
