Arshdeep Singh has expressed that aside from his rookie season, he has felt like an experienced player within the Punjab Kings squad. Since joining the team before the 2019 IPL season, the left-arm fast bowler has played every season with the Kings. He was recently bought back by Punjab for a hefty 18 Crores during the 2025 mega auction and is currently leading the bowling attack as the team sits comfortably in the top four positions.
In the ongoing IPL 2025, Arshdeep has made an impressive contribution, taking 8 wickets in just 6 matches. During a recent episode of “Kandid with Kings,” he shared that he’s felt a significant sense of responsibility since his arrival at the team.
“From the second season onward, I began to feel like a senior member of the team. I have been with Punjab Kings for the past seven years, and after that first year, I realized I had been entrusted with a big responsibility,” said Arshdeep.
He mentioned that this early growth in his role means he can’t afford to let the team down during critical moments.
“With my enhanced role and development coming so soon, I knew I had to be on point during crucial stages. If I didn’t follow the plan, it could put the team’s performance at risk. So, I quickly embraced my responsibilities and began carrying myself like a senior player,” he explained.
On a lighter note, Arshdeep addressed the trolling he has encountered throughout his career, indicating that he takes it in stride. He finds humor in the memes and creativity of those who troll him.
“I’ve faced many highs and lows in my brief career, but I find these trolls quite entertaining. I laugh at their creativity and the memes they come up with,” he said.
Punjab Kings’ next match is scheduled for April 18 against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
