Shreyas Iyer Nominated for Player of the Month Award After Champions Trophy Triumph
Shreyas Iyer has been nominated for the Player of the Month Award for March, thanks to his outstanding performances during India’s successful Champions Trophy campaign. He played a crucial role in helping India secure their third Champions Trophy title, finishing as the tournament’s highest run-scorer.
With a total of 243 runs over five matches, Shreyas notched up two half-centuries and maintained an impressive average of 48.6. In March alone, he scored 172 runs in three matches, boasting an average of 57.33 and a strike rate of 77.47. He is in competition for the award alongside New Zealand players Rachin Ravindra and Jacob Duffy.
Jacob Duffy was exceptional for New Zealand during their T20I series against Pakistan, taking 13 wickets at an average of 8.38 and an economy rate of 6.17 across five matches. This strong performance helped New Zealand secure the series with a 4-1 win and elevated Duffy to the top of the ICC T20I bowler rankings. He also grabbed two wickets in the first ODI against Pakistan, wrapping up March with a total of 15 wickets.
Meanwhile, Rachin Ravindra demonstrated his all-round abilities for New Zealand in the Champions Trophy. In three ODIs during March, the 25-year-old scored 151 runs at an average of 50.33 and an impressive strike rate of 106.33, while also taking three wickets at an economy rate of 4.66.

In the IPL 2025 season, Shreyas Iyer has made a strong impact as the captain of the Punjab Kings. Under his leadership, the team won two out of three matches so far. Shreyas has been in excellent form, accumulating 159 runs in three games with a remarkable average of 159 and a strike rate of 206.49. He kicked off the season with a splendid unbeaten 97 against the Gujarat Titans.
