Bombardier’s Global 8000 Business Jet Takes Major Steps Forward in Production

Bombardier is making impressive progress with its Global 8000 business jet at its state-of-the-art Aircraft Assembly Centre located in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Canada. This facility is known as the newest and most advanced production site for business aircraft globally.

Recently, Bombardier’s Global 8000 Flight Test Vehicle (FTV) flew testing missions to Europe, demonstrating its remarkable performance in real-world scenarios. The Global 8000 is set to be the fastest civil aircraft since the legendary Concorde, featuring a top speed of Mach 0.94 and a range of 8,000 nautical miles, making it an extraordinary choice for business aviation.

In a recent announcement, Bombardier stated that the first production aircraft of the Global 8000 is currently in the assembly phase. Major components have been successfully delivered, and the aircraft is on track for its planned entry into service in 2025.

Stephen McCullough, Senior Vice President of Engineering and Product Development at Bombardier, highlighted the aircraft’s unique abilities. “The Global 8000 can access smaller airports that are often off-limits to other jets in its category, providing owners and operators with unmatched convenience and flexibility,” he said. He added that this aircraft represents the fastest and longest-range purpose-built business jet ever created, offering a combination of innovation, performance, and comfort that elevates the business aviation experience.

As production continues to ramp up, Bombardier’s Flight Test Centre in Wichita has been busy testing the Global 8000, receiving impressive feedback from pilots about its performance in varied conditions.

David Murray, Executive Vice President of Manufacturing at Bombardier, expressed confidence in the progress being made. He noted, “The first production aircraft is moving steadily through assembly, and we are on track to meet our targets for this outstanding ultra-long-range business jet.” He praised the commitment and expertise of the engineering and production teams involved.

The Global 8000 aims to raise standards not only for performance and speed but also for passenger comfort. It will feature four distinct living spaces and a dedicated crew rest area, designed to enhance the travel experience for its occupants. This business jet is expected to encompass the longest cabin length in its class, ensuring that passengers can travel in style and comfort.
