CSK Coach Stephen Fleming Stands by MS Dhoni’s Aggressive Approach Against DC

Chennai Super Kings coach Stephen Fleming has come to the defense of MS Dhoni after their defeat to the Delhi Capitals on Saturday, April 5. In the match held at Chepauk, Dhoni scored 30 runs off 26 balls.

Fleming acknowledged that Dhoni showed the right approach during the game. He explained that when Dhoni came to bat, the conditions were starting to change, making it harder to play. “The intent was there,” Fleming said, noting that the pitch began to grip the ball more as the innings progressed. He mentioned that they expected the pitch to be better early on but to slow down as the game went on, which is what happened.

Fleming pointed out that Delhi’s bowlers executed their plans effectively, making it tough for CSK batters, especially for Vijay Shankar, who had trouble finding the right timing throughout his innings. He remarked that the middle overs, especially between the 12th and 16th, were challenging for everyone. “It was difficult to witness, and even harder to play,” he added, as their chances of winning began to slip away despite their efforts.
