Aakash Chopra recently called out a fan who shared a misleading video that wrongly connected his commentary to a match in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. This game took place on March 28, featuring Chennai Super Kings (CSK) against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
The fan had edited a segment of Chopra’s commentary and paired it with footage of MS Dhoni walking out to bat. This edited video suggested that Chopra was commenting on Dhoni’s entrance, which was not the case. Known for his insightful and entertaining commentary, Chopra took to social media to address this issue and clarify the misunderstanding.
Chopra urged fans not to share false information and pointed out that the correct commentary would have been more fitting if matched with Dhoni’s impressive six during the match, rather than his entrance. His statement emphasizes the need for honesty in sports media.
On social media platform ‘X’, Chopra expressed his frustration, saying, “Attach the commentary of the six to the arrival visuals… Increase views/engagement. God bless you, Kushagra.”
In the match, CSK lost to RCB by 50 runs, but Dhoni managed to entertain the crowd, scoring 30 runs off just 16 balls, including three fours and two sixes. His decision to bat at No. 9 raised some concerns, with former all-rounder Irfan Pathan stating, “I will never be in favour of Dhoni batting at number 9. Not ideal for team.” CSK, while chasing a target of 197, ended their innings at 146 for eight.
Looking ahead, the Super Kings are eager to bounce back as they prepare to face Rajasthan Royals (RR) on March 30 at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. They kicked off their season with a victory over Mumbai Indians (MI) but stumbled against RCB.
