Singer Sonu Nigam encountered a challenging situation while performing at Engifest 2025 at Delhi Technological University (DTU). The event took a surprising turn when some students began throwing stones and bottles at the stage. Despite the disruption, Nigam kept his cool and asked the crowd to show respect.
In a heartfelt address, Sonu Nigam told the audience, “I am here for you all so we can enjoy together. I’m not saying don’t have fun, but please, don’t do this.” His sincere plea aimed to restore calm and ensure the safety of everyone involved in the performance.
Unfortunately, the situation worsened when some of Nigam’s team members suffered injuries amid the chaos. With more than a hundred thousand people in attendance, this incident raised significant concerns about managing large crowds at university events.
Earlier in February, Nigam had faced a similar problem at a concert in Kolkata, where he became visibly annoyed when some fans stood up during his performance. A video of him firmly asking them to sit down quickly went viral. In the clip, he expressed his frustration, suggesting that if attendees wanted to stand, it would be better suited for an election rally.
As his performance continued to be interrupted, Nigam’s tone grew more intense as he attempted to regain control over the crowd, highlighting the difficulties performers can face in such situations.
