ED Arrests Key SDPI Member Amid Ongoing Investigation
NEW DELHI: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has intensified its crackdown on the Popular Front of India (PFI) and its political arm, the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI). Recently, officials arrested Wahidur Rahman Jainullabudeen, an important member of the SDPI, in Coimbatore. This arrest is part of a broader investigation into allegations of money laundering that spans across four states.
Authorities have uncovered that SDPI members were allegedly depositing large amounts of unaccounted cash into their accounts, labeling these funds as donations. The ED’s actions reflect a significant effort to address and investigate financial misconduct tied to the SDPI and its affiliates.
The investigation is still ongoing, and further developments are expected as the ED continues its operations against organizations involved in these alleged irregularities.
