A notice has been filed by P Sandosh Kumar, a leader of the Communist Party of India (CPI) in the Rajya Sabha, against Jagat Prakash Nadda, the Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare. This notice accuses Nadda of providing misleading information in the Rajya Sabha.

During the proceedings on March 11, Nadda reportedly stated that the Union government had cleared all outstanding payments to Kerala under the National Health Mission (NHM). He also pointed fingers at the Kerala government for not submitting the required Utilization Certificate.

Kumar contested this claim, asserting that the Kerala government had already submitted the necessary certificate on November 16, 2024. He claimed that despite this submission, more than ₹636.88 crore remains unpaid, which includes around ₹100 crore allocated specifically for ASHA workers, who play a crucial role in health care at the community level.

Kumar accused the central government of engaging in “vendetta politics” and suggested that Nadda’s statements were an attempt to shift blame for the delay in crucial healthcare funding. He emphasized that such actions not only undermine accountability in parliament but also threaten public welfare by delaying essential resources for frontline health workers.
