Karun Nair is excited about the chance to play for the Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2025 season. Having previously played for the team when they were known as the Delhi Daredevils, Nair is ready to seize new opportunities during his second term with the franchise. He had a notable run with Delhi in 2016 and 2017, even stepping in as captain for three matches.
In his first year, Nair scored 357 runs in 14 matches, followed by 281 runs the next season. Now, at 33 years old, he arrives at the IPL after impressing in domestic cricket with Vidarbha, and he is prepared for the upcoming season.
In a recent conversation, Nair reflected on his past experiences with the Delhi team and expressed his excitement about creating new memories. He believes he has grown as a player and aims to apply that maturity on the field this season. “I have always cherished my time with Delhi and I’m eager to build on those memories. I feel like a more seasoned player now, and my understanding of the game has improved. I want to take one match at a time, look for chances to shine, and make the most of them,” Nair shared.
When asked about what his specific role will be this season, Nair said it was too early to predict. He highlighted the strong squad that DC has put together, noting that everyone seems to be in good form. “It’s really exciting to be a part of this squad. I can’t say exactly what my role will be yet, but I’m looking forward to bonding with my teammates and playing alongside them,” he added.
The Delhi Capitals will kick off their IPL 2025 journey against the Lucknow Super Giants on March 24 in Vizag.
