Apple is moving forward with its plans to expand its retail presence in India. The tech giant has officially started hiring for four new stores that will be opened in major cities: Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Pune.

John Taffe, a leader at Apple Stores, shared this exciting news on LinkedIn. He expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming stores, stating, “We’re thrilled to announce the opening of four new Apple retail stores in Pune, Delhi NCR, Mumbai, and Bangalore! It has been an incredible journey for Apple in India, and we’re excited to grow in these vibrant cities.”

This month, Apple’s “Jobs at Apple” website has listed more than 20 job openings, with nearly half focused on retail roles at different locations across India.

Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, had previously confirmed these retail expansion plans, especially after the success of Apple’s first two stores in India, located in Mumbai (Apple BKC) and Delhi (Apple Saket), which opened in 2023. These stores enjoyed a lot of customer visits, particularly during the launches of new iPhone models.

In a recent earnings call, Cook underscored India’s growing significance to Apple, noting that they achieved record iPhone sales in the country during the last quarter of December. “India is now the second largest smartphone market globally and the third largest for PCs and tablets,” he mentioned.

Deirdre O’Brien, Apple’s senior vice president of retail, emphasized the role of physical stores in connecting with customers. “Our stores are wonderful places to experience the magic of Apple. It’s been great to strengthen our bond with customers in India,” she stated.

John Taffe’s LinkedIn post encourages individuals from all backgrounds to apply for the roles available. He stated, “Whether you have retail experience or are looking to start a new career, there are opportunities waiting for you.”

This expansion clearly shows Apple’s commitment to the Indian market, and many are looking forward to seeing the new stores open their doors soon.
