Hyderabad: Upgrading ITIs to Advanced Tech Centres

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has announced an initiative to transform the existing Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) across the state into Advanced Technology Centres (ATCs). This upgrade aims to enhance technical education and skills training for the youth.

During a review meeting held with officials from the Labour Department, the Chief Minister emphasized the need to establish ATCs at the headquarters of each of the 119 assembly constituencies or in the nearest urban areas. The plan is to upgrade all existing ITIs into ATCs and set up new centres in locations without ITIs.

The officials provided an update on the staffing needs and infrastructure requirements for the new ATCs. In response, Revanth Reddy offered suggestions on staff recruitment and assured them that the government is prepared to allocate the necessary funds for these developments without delay.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister directed officials to carry out an in-depth analysis of the proposed Gig and Platform Workers Act, which would focus on improving conditions for gig workers in the state.

This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to enhancing workforce skills and adapting to technological advancements, ensuring that the youth are better prepared for future job opportunities.
