Lucknow College Hosts Online Lecture on Kumbh Mela’s Significance
Lucknow: Khun Khun Ji Girls’ PG College and Government Degree College in Banbasa, Champawat, Uttarakhand, came together for an insightful online lecture on Tuesday. The topic of discussion was “The Grand Confluence of Faith and Culture: From Mythological Narratives to the Globalized Era.”
During the lecture, Assistant Professor Abhimanyu Singh from the Department of Sanskrit and Prakrit Languages at Lucknow University emphasized that the Kumbh Mela represents the deep cultural values of India. He stated, “Kumbh Mela captures the essence of our rich traditions."
Another speaker, Assistant Professor Satyaketu from the same department, shared his views on the symbolic nature of Kumbh, declaring that “Sarvasiddhipradaḥ Kumbhaḥ” is a symbol of enlightenment and self-purification.
Research scholar Ashok Kumar Shatapathi added to the conversation, noting that Kumbh Mela is a sacred gathering that intertwines devotion, history, and knowledge.
Mandavi Singh pointed out that Kumbh unites millions of people, transcending both time and borders. Anshu Kedia highlighted that discussions like these are vital for keeping our traditions alive.
The lecture was well-received, and other attendees included Parul Singh, Satyam Tiwari, and Mukesh Kumar, who all contributed to the enriching dialogue.
