Saif Ali Khan and his family have taken important security steps after a worrying incident at their home in Bandra last month, where Saif was stabbed during an attempted robbery. They have put in place CCTV cameras and have hired Ronit Roy’s security agency for some added protection. Despite these measures, Saif prefers to avoid heavy security and doesn’t want to walk around with bodyguards.
In a candid interview with Delhi Times, Saif shared his thoughts on personal safety. He emphasized, “I’ve never believed in security. People ask why I don’t have more protection. The truth is, I don’t want it. I never wanted to walk around with three security guys. That would feel like a nightmare for me.” He further stated that he doesn’t feel threatened and views the attack as an unfortunate mistake rather than a personal assault.
Following the stabbing, his family opted for Ronit Roy’s Ace Safety Agency, known for protecting other big names in Bollywood like Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. After Saif’s release from Lilavati Hospital, Ronit was seen coordinating with local police outside Saif’s residence, showing his active involvement in ensuring Saif’s safety. He was also spotted at the hospital during Saif’s surgery and the following day near the actor’s apartment.
Saif and his wife, Kareena Kapoor, have also chosen to install CCTV cameras at their home as an additional protective measure. Nevertheless, Saif reiterated that this incident shouldn’t drastically change their lives. “It’s not going to change my life, and it shouldn’t. This was someone acting out of desperation, not a targeted attack,” he added.
Currently, Saif is on the road to recovery and is promoting his new film, The Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins.
