GOPIO Chamber of Commerce Hosts Networking Luncheon in New York

NEW YORK, NY – The GOPIO Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) held a successful networking luncheon on February 1 in Manhattan. This event drew together entrepreneurs, investors, and industry leaders to explore the expanding opportunities available for the Indian diaspora, particularly in the fields of technology and innovation.

The luncheon took place in the conference room of GOPIO Life Member Braj Aggarwal’s office, providing an ideal setting for new technology ventures and potential investors to connect and discuss collaboration possibilities.

Dr. Thomas Abraham, Chairman of GOPIO International, kicked off the event with a welcoming speech. He highlighted the GCCI’s goal of linking small and medium-sized businesses within the Indian community, both locally and globally. “This initiative will create valuable networking opportunities for businesses and entrepreneurs,” Dr. Abraham stated.

During the luncheon, Prakash Shah, President of GOPIO International, shared exciting news about the upcoming GOPIO Convention in Brisbane, Australia, taking place from March 28-30, 2025. He announced that the convention would focus on “The Diaspora’s Role in Shaping Future Technologies,” covering diverse topics such as artificial intelligence (AI), quantum computing, nanotechnology, and advances in biomedical science.

The attendees were also treated to insights from guest speaker Raj Lakha, an investor based in London. He discussed the significant investment opportunities available in sectors such as Longevity Medicine, AI, and Fintech. Lakha urged the Indian diaspora to take advantage of these emerging fields, emphasizing their potential to enhance health and promote longer life spans.
