External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has arrived in Odisha for the upcoming Pravasi Bharatiya Divas convention, which will begin on January 8. He was warmly greeted at the airport by Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, along with Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida and state BJP president Manmohan Samal.
Before the three-day event kicks off, Jaishankar is scheduled to visit important sites such as the Sun Temple in Konark and the Jagannath Temple in Puri. The state has made extensive preparations for what will be the first gathering of its kind since the new government took office, promising excellent arrangements for the international delegates.
More than 50 overseas Indians have already arrived in the state, and Odisha has organized traditional welcoming ceremonies and special accommodations for its guests. The event will also feature various cultural performances and trips to local attractions, showcasing the state’s rich heritage and hospitality. Security measures have been tightened to ensure the safety and comfort of all prominent participants and honored guests.
