A Mumbai court has instructed the Bandra Police to file a First Information Report (FIR) against filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar, co-producer Himanshu Mehra, and others. This action comes after serious allegations, including conspiracy, cheating, forgery, and defamation, were raised in relation to the upcoming film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.
Vashu Bhagnani, the complainant, lodged a formal complaint on September 3, 2024, claiming that Zafar and Mehra had misappropriated significant sums of money by allegedly forging Bhagnani’s signature during film production. Initially, there was no response from the police regarding his complaint, prompting Bhagnani to appeal to the Bandra Metropolitan Magistrate Court for action.
On December 2, 2024, the court determined that the claims involved a considerable amount of money and numerous transactions that spanned various locations. The judge highlighted that gathering the necessary evidence would require cooperation from multiple agencies, given the complexity of the case and the serious nature of the allegations.
As a result, the court ordered the registration of an FIR against Zafar, Mehra, and others under several sections of the Indian Penal Code, which include conspiracy, cheating, forgery, and defamation.
This legal development has reignited interest in the controversies surrounding Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, leaving many curious about the next steps in these proceedings.
