Shilpa Shetty’s Attorney Refutes Claims of ED Raids: “She’s Not Involved in Any Wrongdoing”

Shilpa Shetty’s Lawyer Denies ED Raid Claims Connected to Raj Kundra

Recent media reports claiming that Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty was subject to Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids have been dismissed by her lawyer as false and misleading. The ED has been investigating her husband, businessman Raj Kundra, in relation to a suspected money laundering case involving the distribution of adult content.

In a clear statement aimed at setting the record straight, Shetty’s lawyer emphasized that no raids were conducted at her home nor was she connected to the ongoing investigation. The lawyer stated, “Reports suggesting that my client, Mrs. Shilpa Shetty Kundra, has been raided by the Enforcement Directorate are not true. She has nothing to do with any offense.”

The legal representative made it clear that the investigations are focused solely on Raj Kundra, who is cooperating with authorities to uncover the truth behind the allegations.

Furthermore, the lawyer called upon media outlets to be responsible in their reporting. He requested that they refrain from using Shilpa Shetty’s name, images, or video in connection with this case. He warned that any careless reporting could lead to serious consequences.

On November 29, 2024, the ED conducted raids at around 15 locations in Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh, including properties linked to Raj Kundra. The official sources indicated that these searches are part of a broad inquiry into allegations of money laundering related to the distribution of pornographic material through mobile applications and other channels.

This situation has unfolded following earlier legal proceedings where the Supreme Court provided anticipatory bail to Kundra and others involved, including names like Sherlyn Chopra and Poonam Pandey, in December 2022 concerning related issues.
