In the throes of this election season, an unmistakable wave of anxiety washes over many—a feeling akin to navigating a stormy sea of uncertainty. As the winds of change collide with the steadfast anchors of tradition, voices from varied faith backgrounds rise in harmony to offer solace. They illuminate a path towards divine trust, revealing sacred verses and personal prayers that act as beacons of hope amidst the chaos.

### “Do Not Be Anxious About Anything”

Troy A. Miller, the esteemed president and CEO of National Religious Broadcasters, situated in the heart of Washington, D.C., shared with us a verse that reverberates with profound reassurance during these turbulent times. He quoted the poignant words of Philippians 4:6-7: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Miller poignantly remarked, as the fateful day of November 5 approaches, myriad thoughts swirl within us: How to cast our vote? What implications will the outcomes hold for our nation? He implores us to glean wisdom from scripture, reminding us that by seeking God’s will and laying our burdens at His feet, we can uncover a peace that truly transcends all comprehension.

### Humanity Called to ‘Complete,’ Not ‘Compete’

Echoing similar sentiments, Işık Abla, senior pastor of Dream Church International in Virginia Beach, underscored the importance of resting in divine sovereignty during uncertain times. “In all things, God works for the good of those who love Him,” she noted, referring to Romans 8:28. In the face of diverging opinions and rising emotions, Abla invites believers to anchor themselves in a deeper understanding of God’s overarching plan.

### “Jesus Christ is the Same Yesterday, Today, and Forever”

Pastor Jesse Bradley of Grace Community Church in Auburn, Washington, offered a reassuring reminder: “Jesus is our rock in times of uncertainty.” Drawing from Hebrews 13:8, he emphasized that nothing can sever the bond of God’s love, even amidst our most challenging trials. “The Gospel remains ever good news,” he proclaims. “God will never leave us nor forsake us. His grace is a steadfast companion through every storm we face.”

Bradley generously shared a heartfelt prayer, inviting those grappling with anxiety to lean into the comforting embrace of faith.

“Father God, thank you for your presence. You are the God of comfort and the source of our joy,” he prayed. He beseeches divine intervention for compassion, wisdom, and the courage to serve others while holding steadfast to the truth that Christ has conquered the chaos of this world.

### “Please Keep Us All Safe and United”

As Rabbi Daniel Rowe from Aish, a global Jewish organization, reflects on the anxieties surrounding the election, he leads with a prayer that captures the essence of humanity’s shared journey. He acknowledges the fears and adversities we confront while reminding us of our collective responsibility—to rise above discord and serve with humility.

His supplication resonates profoundly: “God of all the world, I beseech you to help me transcend my fears and biases. In the face of opposing views, let me remember our common humanity. Help me acknowledge that while roads may diverge, our collective destinies are intertwined, united in Your purpose.”

As the election looms large, each spoken prayer and cherished verse becomes a thread in the intricate tapestry of faith—a reminder that while the world may seem tumultuous, hope springs eternal in the hearts anchored in divine love. Through prayer and reflection, we are called not only to navigate this moment of uncertainty but to rise up, embodying unity and resilience as we march forward together.
