Jasprit Bumrah Progresses in Rehabilitation Ahead of Champions Trophy<\/strong><\/p>\n Jasprit Bumrah, India’s leading fast bowler, has recently wrapped up a five-week off-loading period and is now focusing on his rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). This phase of off-loading means that he had to rest completely, avoiding any gym work, as he works towards becoming match-fit for the upcoming Champions Trophy.<\/p>\n The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has been tight-lipped about Bumrah\u2019s fitness updates. Very few individuals connected to the NCA and the national team have current details about his recovery. However, sources indicate that a dedicated team in Bengaluru is working hard to rehabilitate Bumrah, who is considered one of India’s key players.<\/p>\n To support injured players, the NCA typically assigns a strength and conditioning coach, a physiotherapist for injury monitoring, and a skills coach for bowling or batting. Currently, strength and conditioning coach Rajnikanth Sivagnanam and physiotherapist Thulasi Ram Yuvraj are leading Bumrah’s recovery, with Dr. Nitin Patel overseeing the entire process.<\/p>\n Although some reports suggested that Bumrah was training with national S&C coach Soham Desai, who is currently with the Indian team for their series against England, he is not available at the NCA at this time. Desai is also expected to travel with the team to Dubai for the Champions Trophy.<\/p>\n Should Bumrah be cleared to start bowling, Troy Cooley will be on hand to supervise that aspect of his training. The final update on Bumrah’s fitness will be compiled by Dr. Patel and sent to BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia and chairman of selectors Ajit Agarkar.<\/p>\n Head coach Gautam Gambhir and team captain Rohit Sharma will also be kept informed about Bumrah\u2019s progress.
