The grocery giant has been recognized for its impressive technological upgrades aimed at improving the shopping experience for customers. One key initiative is the trial of AI-powered Caper Carts from Instacart, which facilitate autonomous checkouts. <\/p>\n
Additionally, Morrisons has implemented digital Bluetooth probes in its Oven Fresh departments to automate food safety checks, ensuring that products meet safety standards. The retailer also introduced a Pick to Light system that uses digital labels on shelves to aid online order pickers.<\/p>\n
Moreover, the rollout of the Everseen system has enhanced efficiency at the front end and improved measures to recover losses. These innovations are all contributing to greater efficiency and transforming how Morrisons operates.<\/p>\n
For the Caper Carts project, Morrisons designed a special integration bridge to connect this new technology with its older systems in anticipation of a new point-of-sale rollout. As for the Bluetooth probing, all 475 Oven Fresh counters were upgraded to allow for continuous temperature checks and instant alerts, which helps Morrisons improve its merchandising practices.
