### Weather Delays Challenge Players<\/p>\n
Starting from the 10th hole, McIlroy experienced a rocky beginning with a bogey. However, he quickly bounced back, securing birdies on the 13th, 15th, and 18th holes and completing his first nine in 34 shots. On his second nine, he added another birdie but also recorded a second bogey on the third hole, finishing the last six holes at par.<\/p>\n
The severe weather resulted in a four-hour pause in play while McIlroy was on the course. After the delay, the competition resumed at 4 PM local time. Following his round, McIlroy expressed satisfaction with his game but noted missed opportunities after play resumed.<\/p>\n
### Early Standings<\/p>\n
Currently at the top of the leaderboard is Denmark\u2019s Niklas Norgaard, who finished with a score of 66, six under par. Northern Ireland’s Tom McKibbin is among those at five under, joined by Eugenio Chacarra, who is in second place in the Race to Dubai rankings.<\/p>\n
Scottish players Scott Jamieson, Ewen Ferguson, and Bob MacIntyre all started strong with rounds of 68. Meanwhile, Tommy Fleetwood ended with a score of two under, matching McIlroy’s performance. Race to Dubai leader Patrick Reed, who started later due to the weather delay, managed to play just four holes and stands at two over par as the final groups were unable to start their rounds. Play will continue on Friday.
