This diplomatic action occurred in the wake of an incident on October 2 in the Ferozepur sector of Punjab, where India rejected Pakistan’s claims about the event.<\/p>\n
According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), three individuals crossed into Indian territory and moved closer to the border fence, ignoring repeated warnings from the Border Security Force (BSF) to turn back. The BSF felt it necessary to take action when the individuals posed a potential security threat.<\/p>\n
The MEA highlighted that this incident reflects a troubling trend of cross-border movements, allegedly linked to armed narcotics groups operating out of Pakistan. India urged Pakistan to look into these infiltration incidents and the smuggling activities, suggesting that even its border security forces might be involved in facilitating these actions.<\/p>\n
This diplomatic protest from India followed Pakistan summoning India\u2019s Charg\u00e9 d\u2019Affaires in Islamabad concerning the deaths of two Pakistani nationals in the same sector. Pakistan argued that these individuals were civilians who inadvertently crossed the border, disputing India’s account of the situation.<\/p>\n
In response, India labeled the Pakistani allegations as unfounded and politically motivated, reinforcing its position that the three individuals intentionally entered Indian territory despite clear warnings. India called for Pakistan to honor the integrity of the border and to comply with existing agreements regarding border management.
