TEHRAN:<\/strong> Two oil tankers were hit by unknown projectiles in the Strait of Hormuz, according to a British maritime agency on Friday. This incident marks a worrying escalation in threats to shipping in this vital waterway.<\/p>\n The Strait of Hormuz is crucial for global oil and liquefied natural gas transport, with around one-fifth of the world\u2019s supply passing through it. The situation has become more tense following strikes by the U.S. and Israel on Iran earlier this year, which intensified the ongoing conflict in the region.<\/p>\n In response to perceived threats, Iran has been stopping commercial ships and has even fired upon vessels that it believes have crossed its borders illegally.
