TEHRAN: Iran has communicated its terms to the United States, through mediators, regarding the reopening of the vital Strait of Hormuz, which has been blocked during the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.<\/strong><\/p>\n As tensions remain high following US and Israeli airstrikes on Iran that began in late February, both sides find themselves at a stalemate. Iran has continued to restrict access to the Strait of Hormuz, a key passage for global oil and gas shipments, while the US aims to apply pressure on Iran\u2019s economy by targeting its ports.<\/p>\n Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the speaker of Iran\u2019s parliament and chief negotiator, stated, \u201cOur messages and conditions have been clearly communicated to the other party through various mediators.\u201d He emphasized that a return to the previously open state of the strait will only be possible if the US fulfills its commitments. <\/p>\n In a recent interview with Al-Jazeera, Mohsen Rezaei, the head of Iran\u2019s Supreme National Security Council, mentioned that Iran has outlined its conditions to the US via Qatar.
