He also stressed the significance of individuals regaining control over their personal data.<\/p>\n \u201cTaking back our data and establishing protections around it is vital,\u201d he added. As technology continues to evolve, Fassuliotis pointed out the importance of adapting and safeguarding personal information.<\/p>\n Representative Ford mentioned that lawmakers are actively working on legislation to limit the type of data government agencies can collect. \u201cOur goal is to create a comprehensive yet focused bill to restrict government data collection, as this is a major concern for many people,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n In May, Governor Henry McMaster signed Senate Bill 163, which aims to protect digital rights.
