This action was approved on Wednesday by the board of governors, which consists of 35 member nations.<\/p>\n The resolution follows a previous decision made on June 12, 2022, a day before Israel began its military strikes on Iran\u2019s nuclear sites, an action soon supported by the United States. The earlier resolution highlighted Iran’s “non-compliance” with its nuclear obligations, necessitating this new resolution to formally alert the Security Council about the breach.<\/p>\n However, analysts suggest that the Security Council may not take substantial action against Iran, given that Russia and China, two of Iran’s key allies, are permanent members with veto power.
