Silicon Valley Career Technical Education (SVCTE) has received an impressive $500,000 investment from Sutter Health. This funding is part of a three-year plan aimed at enhancing healthcare career opportunities for students and bridging the gap between classroom education and real-world jobs.<\/p>\n
In addition to the first-year funding, Sutter Health has pledged $250,000 for the second year, while the amount for the third year will depend on the program’s requirements.<\/p>\n
The initial investment aims to benefit around 250 students within five specialized healthcare pathways offered by SVCTE. These pathways include two Medical Assisting courses, Medical Science\/Health Careers, Nursing Careers, and Sports Medicine & Kinesiology. The funding will help update equipment and curricula, create career-focused learning experiences, provide student mentorship, and expand practical work opportunities to prepare students for careers in healthcare.<\/p>\n
Linda Goytia, President of the MetroED Governing Board and Trustee for the Campbell Union High School District, expressed her delight, saying, \u201cI am extraordinarily pleased that Sutter Health recognizes the value of partnering with SVCTE and investing in young people who are launching their careers in health.\u201d<\/p>\n
Residents of Santa Clara County, young and old, can join in on the excitement this September by visiting a Santa Clara County Library District location, including the Cupertino Library, to grab one of two brand-new limited edition San Jose Sharks library cards. The cards are designed with the Sharks\u2019 fresh \u201cTurn it All Teal\u201d branding.<\/p>\n
To celebrate this launch, a special storytime event is scheduled at the Cupertino Library on Tuesday, September 8, at 4 p.m., featuring a surprise guest from the San Jose Sharks.<\/p>\n
