The decision was made public on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Points to Note:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The petitioners failed to offer proof to support their claims that Gandhi holds British citizenship.<\/li>\n<li>They filed for a writ of quo warranto, which challenges Gandhi&#8217;s eligibility to serve as a Member of Parliament.<\/li>\n<li>Previous allegations regarding Gandhi&#8217;s citizenship were made in 2015 and 2019, but those were also dismissed.<\/li>\n<li>The court pointed out that the supporting documents provided were insufficient, including claims about a company named Backops Limited and a letter allegedly linked to someone named &#8220;Raul Vinci.&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The case in question was distinct from other ongoing legal matters concerning Gandhi&#8217;s citizenship. Ashok Pande and Rajnish Kumar Singh filed the recent petition, asserting that Gandhi was not an Indian citizen and therefore should not be allowed to represent Raebareli in Parliament.<\/p>\n<p>A writ of quo warranto can challenge a person\u2019s right to hold a public office if they do not meet the necessary qualifications.<\/p>\n<p>During the court proceedings, it was revealed that similar citizenship issues had been presented in the past. In 2015, a similar petition was dismissed, with the court stating that concerns about citizenship should be directed to the central government according to the Citizenship Act of 1955. A subsequent petition in 2019 also did not succeed and was directed back to the government.<\/p>\n<p>In the latest petition, Singh claimed that Gandhi established Backops Limited in the UK in 2003, presenting himself as its director and a British citizen. However, he was unable to provide any official documents to confirm these claims, such as incorporation records or a declaration of British citizenship from Gandhi.<\/p>\n<p>The only document cited was an alleged letter from Cambridge University regarding an individual named &#8220;Raul Vinci,&#8221; which the court determined did not help support the claims against Gandhi.
