The pre-sale event for Cricket Nation members, which began on Monday, set a record by selling 26,000 tickets within the first 48 hours.

According to a statement from NZC, this exceptional demand is largely due to India’s historic tour, which includes 12 matches across different formats starting in October. The white-ball matches at Auckland’s Eden Park, specifically the fourth T20I and the first ODI, have attracted the most attention from fans.

Christchurch’s Hagley Oval is also seeing a surge in interest, with expectations that the 9,000-seat venue will be fully booked for the opening T20I matches on October 22 and 24. Additionally, the final Test match is set to take place at Hagley Oval from November 27 to December 1.

In Wellington, ticket sales have been strong as well, with HNRY Stadium hosting the third T20I and the second ODI. The historic Cello Basin Reserve is set to welcome fans for the opening Test starting on November 19.

NZC’s Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer, Glenn Critchley, expressed excitement over the early ticket sales. “It’s wonderful to see fans taking action early to secure their seats,” he said. He also encouraged fans to stay organized to avoid missing out, noting the impressive sales in just two days showcase that many have heeded this advice.

“This is a unique opportunity for New Zealand cricket fans to experience the excitement of a match featuring India and watch some of the world’s best athletes compete. We’ve maintained ticket prices from last season, with tickets available for under $30 using the Cricket Nation access code,” added Critchley.

He emphasized the importance of fans acting quickly, as the general public sale will not start until September 7. For those who sign up for Cricket Nation, there’s a chance to secure their seats early along with a 15% discount.

Critchley also highlighted special ticket packages, including ‘The Four’ and ‘The Six,’ along with venue bundles, that provide additional value for fans looking to enjoy the matches.

Overall, the buzz around India’s tour has created an exciting atmosphere for cricket lovers in New Zealand.

Wellington: High Ticket Demand for India’s Cricket Tour of New Zealand New Zealand Cricket (NZC) announced on Thursday that several matches during India’s upcoming tour of New Zealand are among the top-selling events for the country’s cricket season.
