Shubman Gill has been appointed as captain, with KL Rahul stepping in as vice-captain. The team features both seasoned players and newcomers eager to make their impact in Test cricket.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, India will miss some usual squad members. Nitish Reddy has been ruled out due to a thigh injury, preventing his participation in the tour of the UK. Additionally, Harshit Rana has also been sidelined shortly after returning from a four-month injury period.<\/p>\n<p>There is still uncertainty regarding the fitness of Sai Sudharsan and Jasprit Bumrah. He did not participate in the home series against Afghanistan or the T20 matches against Ireland and England.<\/p>\n<p>Sources indicate that Bumrah will be on rest until July 30, after which he will undergo further assessments at the BCCI&#8217;s Centre of Excellence to determine his return date.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gurnoor Brar Joins the Test Squad<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Rishabh Pant and Dhruv Jurel will continue to serve as the preferred wicketkeepers. The pace attack, which raises some questions for the series, includes regulars Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna. The first match will take place in Galle, while the second is scheduled in Colombo.
