Actor Paresh Rawal recently shared his strong feelings about the intense media frenzy that surrounded the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput in 2020. In a candid conversation on Vicky Lalwani’s podcast, Rawal expressed his dismay at how the case was covered by the media.<\/p>\n
During the discussion, Rawal mentioned that he chose to avoid news channels during the COVID-19 lockdown, citing his health concerns as a reason. He specifically referred to the rampant media coverage following Rajput\u2019s death on June 14, 2020, which had transformed into a sensational spectacle. “I really hated the circus around Sushant Singh,” he stated without hesitation.<\/p>\n
Rawal also reflected on his short-lived career in politics. He served as a BJP Member of Parliament from Ahmedabad East after winning the elections in 2014. However, he realized that the demands of political life did not suit him. “I left because it wasn’t my calling,” he admitted, noting that he had entered politics with a noble intention but found the demands overwhelming.<\/p>\n
He emphasized that returning to acting was a natural choice for him, a field he has been passionate about for many years. “Now I’ve gained some control over my craft,” he remarked.<\/p>\n
One of Rawal\u2019s main concerns during his political journey was the fear of not being able to keep promises. “I would keep saying I\u2019ll do this, but after a couple of times, I\u2019d be lying. I didn\u2019t want to become a dishonest person,” he explained, highlighting how this would negatively impact his integrity as an actor.<\/p>\n
Since stepping back from politics, Rawal has continued to focus on his acting career.
