The company is launching a new subsea cable system connecting Mumbai and Singapore, which will help deliver faster and more efficient services. Additionally, it is joining a consortium to invest in another subsea cable linking Chennai to Singapore, which is expected to be operational by the end of 2029.<\/p>\n
This India-Singapore route is anticipated to become a vital digital corridor, providing a high-capacity, low-latency connection that will support essential data traffic between India, Southeast Asia, and global markets. By boosting its TGN network capacity, Tata Communications aims to provide flexible, high-performance connectivity that caters to the growing needs of businesses.<\/p>\n
Genius Wong, Executive Vice President and CTO of Tata Communications, expressed, “As the demand for digital services grows, our investments reflect our commitment to developing future-ready infrastructure.” He emphasized that these enhancements will improve the reliability and performance of connectivity solutions within one of the busiest digital channels.<\/p>\n
The newly established cable systems will integrate with Tata’s extensive terrestrial fiber network in India, ensuring seamless connectivity to over 100 Data Centers nationwide. When combined with Tata Communications’ Global TGN Subsea network, this upgrade will enhance various IZO\u2122 connectivity solutions, such as IZO DC Dynamic Connectivity and IZO Multi-cloud Connectivity. These solutions will allow businesses to quickly activate and integrate new capabilities into their networks.<\/p>\n
Additionally, Tata Communications operates one of the largest and most advanced subsea fiber networks, comprising over 500,000 km of subsea optical fiber and over 200,000 km of terrestrial fiber, forming the backbone of its service offerings.
