India is seen as a strong contender for the 2036 Games, with Ahmedabad likely to be the focus of its bid. However, competition is expected from nations like Qatar, while Turkey and South Africa are also considering their own bids.<\/p>\n
The final Targeted Dialogue phase will kick off in 2028, at which point preferred hosts will need to submit a full set of legal and financial guarantees before the IOC makes its final decision.<\/p>\n

As laid out in the timeline from the IOC Session, the Future Host Commission will offer its recommendations after the Targeted Dialogue stage. The IOC Executive Board will then designate the preferred hosts, whose names will be voted on in mid-2029.<\/p>\n
