Indian-Origin Man Sentenced for Kidnapping and Sexual Assault in London<\/strong><\/p>\n A man of Indian descent has been sentenced to 34 years in prison for kidnapping, torturing, and raping a woman in London. The convict, 34-year-old Gagandeep Singh, was found guilty of serious crimes including two counts of rape and false imprisonment during a trial at Isleworth Crown Court in February.<\/p>\n On Friday, June 12, the court imposed a 34-year sentence on Singh, which includes 28 years in prison and an additional six years of supervised release. The Metropolitan Police confirmed that he will not be eligible for parole until he has served at least 18 years. After completing his sentence, he will be deported and will not be allowed to return to the UK.<\/p>\n The troubling case began in June 2024 when the victim, a 24-year-old woman, became uneasy after being asked to carry a suitcase with unknown contents from Thailand. Upon arriving at Birmingham Airport, masked men forced her into a vehicle and took her to London.<\/p>\n Once in a house in Hanwell, the woman endured extended torture, during which Singh was involved and assaulted her on two occasions. The trauma of her experience initially made her hesitant to share the details with authorities.<\/p>\n With the support of her mother and dedicated officers from the Metropolitan Police, she gradually found the courage to seek justice.
