This initiative provides customizable marketing materials for local businesses to promote events during the much-anticipated tournament.

The toolkit was launched in collaboration with the non-profit organization, the Association for a Better New York (ABNY). The announcement took place outside Murphy’s Irish Bar in Astoria just one week before the World Cup kicks off.

Titled “Celebrate Soccer in 2026,” the toolkit allows small businesses throughout Queens to create personalized posters for their events. They can incorporate national flags representing different countries participating in the tournament and even add their own logos. All templates are made to fit standard home printers and are optimized for social media sharing.

Tom Grech, the President and CEO of the Queens Chamber of Commerce, noted that the World Cup could attract about one million visitors to New York City. He believes that many fans, unable to get tickets for games at MetLife Stadium, will turn to local businesses for an authentic experience.

“People are concerned about the high ticket prices, but we want them to visit our borough and enjoy our bars and restaurants,” Grech said. He emphasized that the toolkit is a great way for local businesses to welcome the influx of fans.

Delia Awusi, the city’s designated small business leader, praised the toolkit as an incredible opportunity for local businesses to showcase themselves during the World Cup.

Rory Murphy, owner of Murphy’s Pub, expressed excitement about the upcoming event, seeing it as a significant chance for local businesses. He mentioned that while the World Cup is a big draw, his bar will also be bustling during the NBA Finals on June 13 and 16.

“With the World Cup in our backyard, it’s a fantastic time for us,” Murphy added, looking forward to welcoming fans from around the world. He also noted that many visitors might choose to stay in the outer boroughs due to high hotel costs in Manhattan.

Former Council Member Francisco Moya highlighted that the tournament is a unique occasion for Queens to showcase its vibrant community and local businesses. “This initiative will make a real difference in promoting what we have to offer,” he said.

The customizable toolkits are available for free to all small businesses in Queens, providing an excellent way for them to thrive during one of the world’s biggest sporting events.

Queens Chamber of Commerce Unveils Business Toolkit for World Cup 2026 The Queens Chamber of Commerce has introduced a new toolkit aimed at helping small businesses prepare for the World Cup 2026.
