Reports indicate that the actor has issued a legal notice to the organization following its recent directive for members to avoid working with him due to his withdrawal from the film Don 3.

The legal notice was sent on Tuesday, just a few days after FWICE instructed its members not to participate in any projects involving Singh. While the details of the notice remain confidential, it is clear that FWICE will now need to address the matter legally.

This situation escalated after filmmaker Farhan Akhtar lodged a complaint with FWICE, stating that Singh had pulled out of Don 3 right before filming was supposed to begin. Akhtar expressed concerns that Singh’s abrupt decision had caused considerable disruption to the film’s production.

On May 25, FWICE issued a statement highlighting that Akhtar and producer Ritesh Sidhwani had already spent around ₹45 crores on the movie’s pre-production. They emphasized that such a sudden exit by a leading actor could lead to serious financial repercussions for the production team and impede the film’s execution.

In light of this, FWICE declared a non-cooperation stance against the star. FWICE President Ashoke Pandit spoke to the media, stating that their members, regardless of their roles, would not engage with any projects featuring Singh. He also urged all producers to support this stance and voice their concerns over the matter.

Pandit mentioned that multiple notices had been sent to Singh requesting his input, yet the actor had not responded. However, amid ongoing discussions in the industry, FWICE later clarified that their directive should not be seen as a formal ban, which had been a common misunderstanding in media coverage.

As of now, Ranveer Singh has not publicly addressed the situation, but his decision to send a legal notice indicates that he plans to challenge FWICE’s actions.

Ranveer Singh’s ongoing conflict with the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has now taken a legal turn.
