Ola Electric has managed to cut its losses in the March quarter, even as its revenue continues to fall due to a slowdown in demand for electric scooters and growing competition in the market. <\/p>\n
Under the leadership of Bhavish Aggarwal, the company reported a net loss of \u20b9500 crore for the January-March period. This is an improvement compared to a loss of \u20b9870 crore during the same period last year. However, the losses were slightly up from \u20b9487 crore in the previous quarter.<\/p>\n
The company’s total expenses dropped significantly, nearly halving to \u20b9546 crore from \u20b91,306 crore last year. Costs for materials used fell to \u20b9124 crore from \u20b9350 crore, and employee benefits also decreased to \u20b958 crore from \u20b999 crore.<\/p>\n
Ola Electric faces stiff competition from other players like Bajaj Auto and TVS Motor, who have gained ground in India\u2019s electric two-wheeler market over the last year. To combat this, Ola has been focusing on automation and improving its manufacturing processes, as well as streamlining its stores to manage costs better.<\/p>\n
In a move aimed at strengthening its position, Ola Electric announced earlier this month that it plans to invest \u20b92,000 crore in its electric vehicle and battery cell divisions. This investment will support local manufacturing and vertical integration.<\/p>\n
For the March quarter, the total income for Ola Electric fell to \u20b9304 crore from \u20b9728 crore a year prior. Revenue specifically from operations also saw a decline, dropping to \u20b9265 crore from \u20b9611 crore.<\/p>\n
Looking at the financial year 2025-26, the company reported a total income of \u20b92,460 crore, down from \u20b94,932 crore the previous year.
