An Indian-origin man, Jashanpreet Singh, has been sentenced to five years and four months in prison for illegal firearm dealings and possession of a machine gun. Singh is known as the founder of the motorcycle gang \u201cPunjabi Devils,\u201d based in Stockton, California.<\/p>\n
The sentencing took place on Monday, carried out by U.S. District Judge Dale A. Drozd. Court records reveal that Singh tried to sell several firearms, including a short-barreled rifle and multiple assault weapons, to an undercover officer on June 6, 2025.<\/p>\n
During the investigation, authorities discovered more weapons, including a machine gun and a silencer, at Singh\u2019s home. Notably, they also found a hand grenade and what seemed to be a military claymore mine. The explosives were safely destroyed by a specialized bomb squad.<\/p>\n
Singh faced initial charges in state court but failed to attend a hearing in July 2025, leading to a bench warrant for his arrest. Just two days later, the FBI learned that Singh was trying to leave the country for India, prompting his arrest at San Francisco International Airport.<\/p>\n
Since then, he has been in federal custody as confirmed by the U.S. Department of Justice.<\/p>\n
This case falls under Operation Take Back America, a nationwide effort by the Department of Justice aimed at fighting illegal crime and enhancing security.
