Liverpool FC is set to honor the late Diogo Jota and his brother, Andre Silva, with a new memorial sculpture at Anfield. The sculpture, called “Forever 20,” will be placed on 97 Avenue, which became a special spot for fans to remember the brothers after their tragic deaths in July 2025.<\/p>\n
The design of the sculpture features a heart, inspired by Jota’s well-known goal celebration, and includes lyrics from a Liverpool fan chant celebrating both brothers. <\/p>\n
In a statement on the club’s website, Liverpool expressed that this tribute will “celebrate their lives, their bond, and the love felt by family, teammates, and fans worldwide.” The memorial aims to be a lasting symbol of love and unity, providing a space for reflection and remembrance.<\/p>\n
The sculpture will be mounted on a stone base, showcasing Jota\u2019s retired No. 20 from one side and Silva’s No. 30 from the other, in memory of Silva’s time at FC Penafiel.<\/p>\n
The brothers lost their lives on July 3, 2025, when the Lamborghini they were in veered off a motorway in Spain and caught fire. At the time, Jota was just 28 years old and had made significant contributions to Liverpool’s success, including their Premier League title win in the 2024-25 season. Silva was 25.<\/p>\n
Their passing brought a wave of sorrow throughout the football community, leading to tributes from clubs, players, and fans across Europe and beyond. Liverpool has not yet shared a date for the sculpture’s official unveiling.
