Most hantavirus cases in this country result from exposure to rodents or their droppings, not through human contact.<\/p>\n Dr. Robert Striker, another infectious disease expert at UW Madison, shared that Wisconsin has seen five cases of hantavirus in the past, but those involved a different strain and were very rare.
