The city has also lost the right to host all playoff matches, breaking the IPL tradition where the defending champions typically host the final.<\/p>\n Reports have emerged suggesting that the venue change was influenced by political issues in the city, particularly regarding ticket distribution for MLAs. However, the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) stated that no official explanation was provided for the decision.<\/p>\n Shivakumar remarked, “The final’s relocation seems to be based on the capacity of the big stadium in Ahmedabad to accommodate more fans. The ticket situation for MLAs had nothing to do with this change. 50% of tickets will be reserved for other purposes,” as reported by ANI.<\/p>\n Typically, the IPL final is hosted by the reigning champions.
