KL Rahul Reflects on His Journey in T20 Cricket and Fatherhood<\/strong><\/p>\n India\u2019s cricketer KL Rahul shared his journey in T20 cricket, acknowledging the challenges he faced in the early years of his career. He expressed his satisfaction in shifting the negative view surrounding his performance in the shorter format of the game, especially after receiving criticism over his strike rate.<\/p>\n Currently playing for the Delhi Capitals, Rahul has shown impressive form this IPL season. He recently delivered a remarkable performance, scoring an unbeaten 152 runs off just 64 balls against the Punjab Kings, even though the team didn\u2019t secure a win.<\/p>\n Though he hasn’t featured in a T20 International for India since 2022, Rahul is still a key player in the ODI and Test formats. During an appearance on JioStar\u2019s show \u2018Superstars\u2019, he reflected on how hard it was to be seen as more than just a Test player. <\/p>\n \u201cTen years ago, I would have given anything to be part of a T20 team. Back then, I was mostly viewed as a Test player,\u201d he said. He emphasized how he worked hard to improve his white-ball game, expressing pride in his progress. \u201cI’ve made mistakes along the way and could have done better, but I\u2019ve always aimed to give my best whenever I play,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n Rahul noted that despite the ups and downs, he values the effort he puts into his training and performance. \u201cSport is unpredictable; it won\u2019t always go in your favor,\u201d he said. He has learned to keep perspective during tough times. \u201cI try to enjoy the journey and remind myself of my accomplishments instead of dwelling on what I haven’t achieved,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n On a personal note, Rahul spoke about fatherhood and how it has brought him tranquility both on and off the field. He and his wife, actress Athiya Shetty, welcomed a baby girl last year. \u201cFatherhood has been a wonderful experience. It brings a happiness and calmness that you can\u2019t understand until you hold your child,\u201d he shared.<\/p>\n He mentioned that seeing his daughter smile or receive a hug makes all his worries fade away, positively impacting his cricket. \u201cI’ve stopped overthinking the game, making it fun again.
