This move comes as part of ongoing preparations for the upcoming elections.<\/p>\n The police commissioner communicated these changes to the Chief Electoral Officer of West Bengal. Gautam Das, who previously served in the Special Branch, has now been appointed as the officer in charge of the Kalighat police station. Additionally, Subrata Pandey, an inspector from the South Division, has been transferred to take over as officer in charge of the Alipore police station.<\/p>\n In another significant shift, Uttam K. Paik, also from the Special Branch, will serve as the additional officer in charge at Kalighat. Meanwhile, Chameli Mukherjee, who was the additional officer in charge at Alipore, has been assigned to the Ultadanga Women\u2019s police station as the officer in charge.<\/p>\n Moreover, the Election Commission announced that 11 new police observers will be deployed for the second phase of polling scheduled for April 29, covering 142 seats.
