The Indian Women’s cricket team is not too worried about Deepti Sharma’s recent struggles as they gear up for the Women’s T20 World Cup. Known as one of the best all-rounders, Deepti has faced a rough patch during the series against South Africa, scoring only two runs and failing to take any wickets so far.<\/p>\n
Bowling coach Aavishkar Salvi has voiced his support for Deepti, stating that her talent goes beyond this temporary dip in form. He highlighted that she is reevaluating her strategies and believes it won\u2019t be long before she finds her flow again and performs strongly.<\/p>\n
“Just a few games don\u2019t define who Deepti is or the incredible performances she’s delivered in the past,” Salvi mentioned in a press conference ahead of the third T20I match. He expressed confidence that with a little adjustment, Deepti will shine once more.<\/p>\n
Deepti\u2019s batting struggles have lasted a while now. Since the last Women\u2019s T20 World Cup in October 2024, she has scored just 90 runs over 11 innings, averaging only 11.25, with her highest score being 29. Unfortunately, she has not crossed into double digits since the beginning of 2025.<\/p>\n
Her bowling stats have also taken a hit. Deepti has managed to take only two wickets in her last seven matches, with a higher economy rate of 7.98 compared to her career average of 6.18. She hasn\u2019t taken a wicket in her last four T20 games.<\/p>\n
As for the team, India has had a shaky start to the series, having lost the first two matches at Kingsmead in Durban.
