Shubman Gill Sets Sights on 2027 ODI World Cup<\/strong><\/p>\n India\u2019s ODI and Test captain, Shubman Gill, has stated that winning the 2027 ODI World Cup is the main goal for the national team. After coming so close to the title in 2023, he admitted that this ambition is often on his mind.<\/p>\n In the 2023 World Cup, India performed exceptionally well but fell short against Australia in the final. Speaking at the BCCI Naman Awards in Mumbai, held on March 15, Gill expressed that the team is still motivated by their near victory.<\/p>\n \u201cDefinitely, it does cross my mind. That is the ultimate goal,\u201d Gill shared on Star Sports when asked about the next ODI World Cup. He emphasized that the team feels they were just one step away from lifting the trophy last time and are eager for another chance.<\/p>\n \u201cWe felt like we were so close last time when we were here in the final in India. Having another opportunity in South Africa is exciting for us,\u201d he added.
