He stressed the need for meaningful discussions that leverage scientific knowledge to combat such tendencies.<\/p>\n \u201cThose who believe in science’s power to lead society forward must advocate for humanism. It\u2019s not enough to be aware of global technological progress; understanding the true history of science is essential,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n The Chief Minister highlighted how critical it is for society to comprehend the context in which science developed, its evolution into various fields, and how scientific knowledge has helped transform lives over generations. He noted that with rising efforts to connect science history to myths and folklore, it\u2019s crucial to build a solid, evidence-based understanding of science.<\/p>\n V. Narayanan, chairman of ISRO, also spoke at the event, highlighting Kerala\u2019s significant impact on India\u2019s development. He remarked that the establishment of the first Technopark in Kerala was a key moment in the nation\u2019s technological journey and served as a model for similar initiatives across the country. He pointed out that the state led the nation with the launch of its space program in 1962 and established India\u2019s first public electronics company, Keltron. \u201cKerala\u2019s high literacy and emphasis on social inclusion have made it a model for human development,\u201d Narayanan added.<\/p>\n During the event, the Chief Minister awarded the 2024 Kerala Sasthra Puraskaram to missile scientist and former DRDO director, Tessy Thomas.
