India has firmly dismissed any claims linking Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Jeffrey Epstein, a noted sex trafficker. The government referred to the mention of Modi in the recently released Epstein investigative files as \u201ctrash\u201d and unworthy of serious attention.<\/p>\n
The comments came after the United States released a massive collection of documents, totaling 3.5 million pages and 2,000 videos, as part of a law enacted by Congress. Among these files was an email that referenced Modi\u2019s 2017 visit to Israel.<\/p>\n
Randhir Jaiswal, a spokesperson for the External Affairs Ministry, stated that while the Prime Minister did visit Israel in July 2017, the rest of the email was simply baseless speculation from a convicted criminal. <\/p>\n
The Congress party subsequently shared documents on social media, suggesting that Epstein had communicated about Modi’s diplomatic efforts during that time. One of the emails from Epstein allegedly claimed that Modi “danced and sang in Israel for the benefit of the US president.”<\/p>\n
In response, Congress leader Pawan Khera raised several questions, demanding clarity from the Prime Minister regarding his supposed connection to Epstein. He highlighted concerns about the implications on India’s reputation and called for Modi to explain the context of the claims made in the email.<\/p>\n
