Nico had been in critical condition since the incident, but his family confirmed his passing. In a heartfelt statement, his parents, Lorena and Juan, expressed their sorrow: “We are heartbroken to share that our son, Nico, has passed away. He was such a happy, friendly, and energetic boy. He had a kind spirit and filled our lives with joy.”<\/p>\n
Emergency services responded quickly after Nico’s friends helped pull him from the water and called for assistance. He sustained severe injuries, including the loss of both legs, and was rushed to Sydney Children’s Hospital.<\/p>\n
